Comparison of the estimators of distance out of U and B

Relations 10.6 enable us to compare the estimates of distance in the two bands.

For that, we use the 15 supernovæ which were followed at the same time out of U, B and V For each one of them, we can write the module of distance estimated out of U and B, respectively  $ \mu_B$ .

Figure 10.15 shows the difference of the two estimates of the module of distance. We note that, on average, the two estimates are equal. Dispersion is of the same order of magnitude as as dispersions after correction of the estimators of distance out of U and B.
