The K-corrections

This correction is very similar to that which we applied to pass in the standard filter.

We seek to express the flux or the magnitude of our supernova in a filter in the reference frame of the supernova. As we saw the filters of observation are selected to correspond to the filters B and V in this reference frame.

To make the correction, we thus use the filters B and V standard, which are shifted towards the red to correspond to the spectral shift of the supernova considered. One integrates then flux in these filters, then, one multiplies it by the factor $ \Delta$ resulting from the adjustment. One thus obtains the expression of fluxes in the reference frame of the supernova. By using once again items zeros defined by Contents
